So now that we have discussed the FAQs almost every beginner guitarist asks, it is time to get you your new guitar, you weapon that wins you happiness.
There are hell lot of options out there in the market from which you can choose to buy your favorite guitar in India. I myself learnt guitar over a second hand Givson (yes, not Gibson) guitar, which had a high action. Although it was difficult to play and it made my fingers full of pain, it was a blessing in disguise, as it toughened up my fingers and the ordeal paid off later on when every other guitar I played became a cakewalk.
So to be frank, if you are really passionate about music and you love creating sounds out of a guitar, it does not matter which guitar you choose to learn on, because your zeal for music will knock out any obstacle on your way and eventually you will emerge a rock star.
But if you are learning guitar as a hobby, then you should buy a brand new acoustic guitar, electric guitar or a semi-electric guitar that is soft on your fingers and encourages you to go on learning. In this case, you should go for big brands like Yamaha or Fender as they are really good guitar brands and give you excellent after sale service.
I would suggest you to learn an acoustic guitar first as it is not very expensive to own one in the beginning while you are still honing your rock star skills. Electric guitar is also a good choice for beginners but the only catch is that they are expensive as you have to pay for the amplifiers and other guitar accessories. However, in the end, it is an individual choice based on your taste of music. A better option could be to go for an acoustic electric guitar (or semi-electric guitar) which is basically an acoustic guitar with a pickup to amplify the sound.
